The Lord GOD to Noah:
Genesis 9:3-4
King James Version
3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you;
even as the green herb have I given you all things.
4 But flesh with the life thereof,
which is the blood thereof,
shall ye not eat.
Early on in the Bible, man was commanded by God not to eat meat with blood.
The consequences being:
Genesis 9:5
King James Version
5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require;
at the hand of every beast will I require it,
and at the hand of man;
at the hand of every man's brother
will I require the life of man.
Leviticus 7:27
King James Version
27 Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood,
even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
In the New Testament, the command remained:
Acts 15:29
King James Version
29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols,
and from blood,
and from things strangled,
and from fornication:
from which if ye keep yourselves,
ye shall do well.
Fare ye well.
Why was God particular we not eat ANY manner of blood?
As always, Scripture -- the WORD of GOD -- is the only reliable source:
Leviticus 17:11
King James Version
11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood:
and I have given it to you upon the altar
to make an atonement for your souls:
for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
The blood of Jesus was atonement for our sins.
Matthew 26:28
King James Version
28 For this is my blood of the new testament,
which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Hebrews 9:22
King James Version
22 And almost all things are by the law
purged with blood;
and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Jesus had become that trespass offering.
1 Peter 1:18-19
King James Version
18 Forasmuch as ye know
that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things,
as silver and gold,
from your vain conversation received
by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ,
as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
Jesus came down from heaven, to become that spotless Lamb, shedding His blood for our sins.
Hebrews 9:12-14
King James Version
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves,
but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place,
having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats,
and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean,
sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ,
who through the eternal Spirit
offered himself without spot to God,
purge your conscience from dead works
to serve the living God?
Why then would we eat meat with blood, or even blood itself?
Why do we glorify blood, through violence and depravity -- on screen, on media, in culture, in government, on earth?
From what demonic part of ourselves have we allowed these things to happen?
We have been deluded, with the enemy aiming to confuse, and destroy us, making sure the sacrifice of Jesus is discredited and defiled.
The Holy Spirit of God sets our thinking right:
1 John 5:6
King James Version
6 This is he that came by water and blood,
even Jesus Christ;
not by water only,
but by water and blood.
And it is the Spirit that beareth witness,
because the Spirit is truth.
1 John 5:8
King James Version
8 And there are three
that bear witness in earth,
the Spirit,
and the water,
and the blood:
and these three agree in one.
Precisely why Jesus commanded we be born again.
We must walk in His light, and have nothing to do with darkness.
1 John 1:7
King James Version
7 But if we walk in the light,
as he is in the light,
we have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son
cleanseth us from all sin.
We must give Jesus the proper love, honor, and worship, for the love, and sacrifice given -- cleansing us from our sins.
Revelation 1:5-6
King James Version
5 And from Jesus Christ,
who is the faithful witness,
and the first begotten of the dead,
and the prince of the kings of the earth.
Unto him that loved us,
and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests
unto God and his Father;
to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.
Amen.
