Joshua 24:15
King James Version
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord,
choose you this day whom ye will serve;
whether the gods which your fathers served
that were on the other side of the flood,
or the gods of the Amorites,
in whose land ye dwell:
but as for me and my house,
we will serve the Lord.
Why are there so many gods?
Who (or what) do 7.8 billion people worship?
How many religions are there?
What were God's specific instructions about worshiping Him?
Why did He hate idolatry so much?
Why is the world so divided?
Who caused all the chaos, and division?
1 Timothy 4:1 (KJV)
4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly,
that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,
giving heed to seducing spirits,
and doctrines of devils;
If everyone had Christ in their hearts, they'd be united.
But we live in a world of a different god, thus, the division.
A true seeker of Christ is commanded to become born again.
Only through the Holy Spirit of God can we understand the laws of God.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works,
lest any man should boast.
But what if your house is divided?
Unbelievers will never get along with believers.
Apostle Paul made that clear:
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 (KJV)
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:
for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?
and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial?
or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?
for ye are the temple of the living God;
as God hath said,
I will dwell in them,
and walk in them;
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them,
and be ye separate, saith the Lord,
and touch not the unclean thing;
and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you,
and ye shall be my sons and daughters,
saith the Lord Almighty.
Only by the grace of God can each one of us be saved.
Trust in the Lord, and know that God had entrusted everyone to His Son, Jesus.
John 6:39-40 (KJV)
39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me,
that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing,
but should raise it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me,
that every one which seeth the Son,
and believeth on him,
may have everlasting life:
and I will raise him up at the last day.
The best thing we believers can do, is to pray that the will of the Father be done.
Only He has the power.
