FAULTS of the flesh

1 Corinthians 6:20

King James Version

20 For ye are bought with a price:

therefore glorify God in your body,

and in your spirit,

which are God's.

We all know about the weakness of the flesh.

We are all aware of the variety of temptations.

We are aware of shocking perversions.

We hope our children would be safe from such.

But these have been prophesied:

2 Timothy 3:1-7

King James Version

3 This know also,

that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves,

covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,

disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection,

trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent,

fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded,

lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness,

but denying the power thereof:

from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses,

and lead captive silly women laden with sins,

led away with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning,

and never able to come

to the knowledge of the truth.

And we have been warned:

1 Corinthians 6:18

King James Version

18 Flee fornication.

Every sin that a man doeth is without the body;

but he that committeth fornication

sinneth against his own body.

It's time we knew how precious our bodies are.

1 Corinthians 6:19

King James Version

19 What?

know ye not that your body

is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you,

which ye have of God,

and ye are not your own?

Mercifully, being born again, is a true blessing.

When GOD sends His SPIRIT to instruct you, guiding you every step of the way, the world's wiles fall away.

You're only interested in praising God.

In worshiping Him, at every opportunity.

In giving Him glory, from the fruits of your labors.

The world loses its appeal, for you see with spiritual eyes.

You don't lust for things of the world.

You're not interested in power, persona, or possessions.

Who cares if it seems you're of no value to the world?

JESUS did say:

Luke 16:15

King James Version

15 And he said unto them,

Ye are they which justify yourselves before men

but God knoweth your hearts:

for that which is highly esteemed among men

is abomination in the sight of God.

The only important thing is that you are of service, to the LORD.

You pray that JESUS defines you in His service.

That's how you can really be useful to the world.

Matthew 9:37

King James Version

37 Then saith he unto his disciples,

The harvest truly is plenteous,

but the labourers are few;

You pray, and wait for God's will.

You're focused on loving God, and obeying His commandments.

Once you master self, you can be of value to others.

The path is towards holiness.

Towards perfection.

EXACTLY as JESUS wants you to be.

In honor of the FATHER.

Matthew 5:48

King James Version

48 Be ye therefore perfect,

even as your Father which is in heaven

is perfect.

We dearly need the HOLY SPIRIT, to be aware, and to overcome the faults of the flesh.

Romans 8:26-27

King James Version

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:

for we know not what we should pray for as we ought:

but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us

with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts

knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit,

because he maketh intercession for the saints

according to the will of God.

Flesh will decay.

Beauty will fade.

Life will pass on.

Possessions come, and go.

But the WORD of GOD remains.

1 Peter 1:25

King James Version

25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.

And this is the word which

by the gospel is preached unto you.

We can count on God.

He is faithful.

1 Corinthians 10:13

King James Version

13 There hath no temptation taken you

but such as is common to man:

but God is faithful,

who will not suffer you to be tempted

above that ye are able;

but will with the temptation also make a way to escape,

that ye may be able to bear it.

For He's got a purpose for us.

Romans 8:28

King James Version

28 And we know that all things work together for good

to them that love God,

to them who are the called

according to his purpose.

So, let us listen closely.

There is a world waiting for us.

In the arms of God.

Hebrews 13:14

King James Version

14 For here have we no continuing city,

but we seek one to come.
