WHO shall SEE the LORD?

Matthew 5:8

King James Version

8 Blessed are the pure in heart:

for they shall see God.

Who has seen the LORD?

What does it take to see the Lord?

How do we have to be?

SPIRIT led me to these verses:

Genesis 1:26-27

King James Version

26 And God said,

Let us make man in our image,

after our likeness

and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,

and over the fowl of the air,

and over the cattle,

and over all the earth,

and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image,

in the image of God created he him;

male and female created he them.

Genesis 3:8

King James Version

8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking

in the garden in the cool of the day

and Adam and his wife hid themselves

from the presence of the Lord God

amongst the trees of the garden.

Genesis 32:30

King James Version

30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel:

for I have seen God face to face,

and my life is preserved.

Exodus 33:9-11

King James Version

9 And it came to pass,

as Moses entered into the tabernacle,

the cloudy pillar descended,

and stood at the door of the tabernacle,

and the Lord talked with Moses.

10 And all the people saw the cloudy pillar

stand at the tabernacle door:

and all the people rose up and worshipped,

every man in his tent door.

11 And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face,

as a man speaketh unto his friend

And he turned again into the camp:

but his servant Joshua,

the son of Nun,

a young man,

departed not out of the tabernacle.

Exodus 33:17-20

King James Version

17 And the Lord said unto Moses,

I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken:

for thou hast found grace in my sight,

and I know thee by name.

18 And he said,

I beseech thee,

shew me thy glory.

19 And he said,

I will make all my goodness pass before thee,

and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee;

and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious,

and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

20 And he said,

Thou canst not see my face:

for there shall no man see me,

and live.

Exodus 33:21-23

King James Version

21 And the Lord said,

Behold,

there is a place by me,

and thou shalt stand upon a rock:

22 And it shall come to pass,

while my glory passeth by,

that I will put thee in a clift of the rock,

and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

23 And I will take away mine hand,

and thou shalt see my back parts:

but my face shall not be seen.

Numbers 12:7-8

King James Version

7 My servant Moses is not so,

who is faithful in all mine house.

8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth,

even apparently,

and not in dark speeches;

and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold

wherefore then were ye not afraid

to speak against my servant Moses?

Deuteronomy 34:10

King James Version

10 And there arose not a prophet since in Israel

like unto Moses,

whom the Lord knew face to face,

Psalm 24:3-5

King James Version

3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord?

or who shall stand in his holy place?

4 He that hath clean hands,

and a pure heart;

who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity,

nor sworn deceitfully.

5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord,

and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Proverbs 8:17

King James Version

17 I love them that love me;

and those that seek me early shall find me.

Isaiah 6:1

King James Version

6 In the year that king Uzziah died

I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne,

high and lifted up,

and his train filled the temple.

Isaiah 60:1-2

King James Version

60 Arise,

shine;

for thy light is come,

and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

2 For, behold,

the darkness shall cover the earth,

and gross darkness the people:

but the Lord shall arise upon thee,

and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

John 1:14

King James Version

14 And the Word was made flesh,

and dwelt among us,

(and we beheld his glory,

the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)

full of grace and truth.

John 1:15

King James Version

15 John bare witness of him,

and cried,

saying,

This was he of whom I spake

He that cometh after me is preferred before me:

for he was before me.

John 1:18

King James Version

18 No man hath seen God at any time,

the only begotten Son,

which is in the bosom of the Father,

he hath declared him.

John 4:24

King James Version

24 God is a Spirit:

and they that worship him

must worship him in spirit and in truth.

John 6:46

King James Version

46 Not that any man hath seen the Father,

save he which is of God,

he hath seen the Father.

John 14:9

King James Version

9 Jesus saith unto him,

Have I been so long time with you,

and yet hast thou not known me, Philip?

he that hath seen me hath seen the Father;

and how sayest thou then,

Show us the Father?

John 14:21

King James Version

21 He that hath my commandments,

and keepeth them,

he it is that loveth me:

and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father,

and I will love him,

and will manifest myself to him.

Acts 22:6-9

King James Version

6 And it came to pass, that,

as I made my journey,

and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon,

suddenly there shone from heaven

a great light round about me.

7 And I fell unto the ground,

and heard a voice saying unto me,

Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

8 And I answered,

Who art thou, Lord?

And he said unto me,

I am Jesus of Nazareth,

whom thou persecutest.

9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light,

and were afraid;

but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.

Ephesians 2:5-7

King James Version

5 Even when we were dead in sins,

hath quickened us together with Christ,

(by grace ye are saved;)

6 And hath raised us up together,

and made us sit together in heavenly places

in Christ Jesus:

7 That in the ages to come

he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace

in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 12:14

King James Version

and holiness,

without which no man shall see the Lord:

Revelation 1:7

he cometh with clouds;

Even so, Amen.

The TRUTH about SIN

James 1:21

King James Version

21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness

and superfluity of naughtiness,

and receive with meekness the engrafted word,

which is able to save your souls.

What is sin?

How to conquer sin?

What happens to sinners?

What happens to the righteous?

Scripture gives you the answers.

What does the Bible say about sin?

Matthew 12:31-32

King James Version

31 Wherefore I say unto you,

All manner of sin and blasphemy

shall be forgiven unto men:

but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost

shall not be forgiven unto men.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word

against the Son of man,

it shall be forgiven him:

but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost,

it shall not be forgiven him,

neither in this world,

neither in the world to come.

James 4:4

King James Version

4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses,

know ye not that the friendship of the world

is enmity with God?

whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world

is the enemy of God.

James 4:16

King James Version

16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings:

all such rejoicing is evil.

To know about sin, you must know what's not sin.

John 1:1-5

King James Version

1 In the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with God,

and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him;

and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life;

and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness;

and the darkness comprehended it not.

1 John 1:5

King James Version

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him,

and declare unto you

that God is light,

and in him is no darkness at all.

If we are of the light:

1 John 1:7

King James Version

7 But if we walk in the light,

as he is in the light,

we have fellowship one with another,

and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us

from all sin.

If we say we have not sinned:

1 John 1:8

King James Version

8 If we say that we have no sin,

we deceive ourselves,

and the truth is not in us.

1 John 1:10

King James Version

10 If we say that we have not sinned,

we make him a liar,

and his word is not in us.

All have sinned.

Romans 3:23

King James Version

23 For all have sinned,

and come short of the glory of God;

But if we confess our sins:

1 John 1:9

King James Version

9 If we confess our sins,

he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,

and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We need humility to accept we have sinned.

James 4:10

King James Version

10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord,

and he shall lift you up.

James 4:9

King James Version

9 Be afflicted,

and mourn,

and weep:

let your laughter be turned to mourning,

and your joy to heaviness.

There is no hiding from the TRUTH of SCRIPTURE.

Hebrews 4:12

King James Version

12 For the word of God is quick,

and powerful,

and sharper than any twoedged sword,

piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,

and of the joints and marrow,

and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

How to conquer sin?

Psalm 37:8

King James Version

8 Cease from anger,

and forsake wrath:

fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

Psalm 37:27

King James Version

27 Depart from evil,

and do good

and dwell for evermore.

Psalm 37:34

King James Version

34 Wait on the Lord,

and keep his way,

and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land

when the wicked are cut off,

thou shalt see it.

James 4:7

King James Version

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God.

Resist the devil,

and he will flee from you.

James 4:8

King James Version

8 Draw nigh to God,

and he will draw nigh to you.

Cleanse your hands,

ye sinners;

and purify your hearts,

ye double minded.

What happens to sinners?

Psalm 37:9

King James Version

9 For evildoers shall be cut off

but those that wait upon the Lord,

they shall inherit the earth.

Psalm 37:15

King James Version

15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart,

and their bows shall be broken.

Psalm 37:20

King James Version

20 But the wicked shall perish,

and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs:

they shall consume;

into smoke shall they consume away.

What happens to the righteous?

Psalm 37:6

King James Version

6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light,

and thy judgment as the noonday.

Psalm 37:9

King James Version

9 For evildoers shall be cut off

but those that wait upon the Lord,

they shall inherit the earth.

Psalm 37:11

King James Version

11 But the meek shall inherit the earth;

and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Psalm 37:18

King James Version

18 The Lord knoweth the days of the upright:

and their inheritance shall be for ever.

Psalm 37:23-24

King James Version

23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord:

and he delighteth in his way.

24 Though he fall,

he shall not be utterly cast down:

for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

Psalm 37:28

King James Version

28 For the Lord loveth judgment,

and forsaketh not his saints;

they are preserved for ever

but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

Psalm 37:29

King James Version

29 The righteous shall inherit the land,

and dwell therein for ever.

Psalm 37:37

King James Version

37 Mark the perfect man,

and behold the upright:

for the end of that man is peace.

Psalm 37:39-40

King James Version

39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord:

he is their strength in the time of trouble.

40 And the Lord shall help them,

and deliver them:

he shall deliver them from the wicked,

and save them,

because they trust in him.

GETTING an ANSWER from GOD

Matthew 18:3

King James Version

3 And said,

Verily I say unto you,

Except ye be converted,

and become as little children,

ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

How does one get an answer from God?

Pray to Him, as a child would.

In all honesty.

In all eagerness.

Knowing nothing.

But wanting to know EVERYTHING.

Surely, you've seen children.

Fully concentrated.

Wrapped in attention.

Fascinated.

Eyes hardly blinking.

If anything, eyes as big as saucers.

I'm such a child, with GOD.

He knows I don't want to miss a thing.

I sit at JESUS' feet, completely transfixed.

Listening to EVERY word.

He reminds me to breathe.

I want to get every nuance, every instruction.

I want to get things right.

The moment His SPIRIT calls, I'm fully at attention.

Like I said, I don't want to miss a thing.

I pray to understand exactly as He wishes.

I can't bear to get it wrong.

I can't mislead you, that's why.

I take very great responsibility that I got the prompts right.

I'm all eyes, and ears.

I aim to never veer off course.

I can't ever.

I'm riding the BAT mobile.

The BORN AGAIN TRAIN.

Can't ever get derailed.

Our VILE bodies

Philippians 3:21

King James Version

21 Who shall change our vile body,

that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body,

according to the working whereby he is able

even to subdue all things unto himself.

This is the third part of the "citizenship of heaven" series.

Our flesh is not acceptable to GOD.

We are all steeped in sin.

Only through JESUS can we be made whole.

But first, what does "vile" mean?

Dictionaries define it as abhorrent, contemptible, extremely unpleasant, wicked, of little worth of value.

Here are the various Bible translations:

Philippians 3:21

American Standard Version

21 who shall fashion anew the body of our humiliation, that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working whereby he is able even to subject all things unto himself.

Philippians 3:21

Amplified Bible

21 who, by exerting that power which enables Him even to subject everything to Himself, will [not only] transform [but completely refashion] our earthly bodies so that they will be like His glorious resurrected body.

Philippians 3:21

Christian Standard Bible

21 He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of his glorious body, by the power that enables him to subject everything to himself.

Philippians 3:21

Complete Jewish Bible

21 He will change the bodies we have in this humble state and make them like his glorious body, using the power which enables him to bring everything under his control.

Philippians 3:21

Contemporary English Version

21 has power over everything, and he will make these poor bodies of ours like his own glorious body.

Philippians 3:21

Darby Translation

21 who shall transform our body of humiliation into conformity to his body of glory, according to the working of [the] power which he has even to subdue all things to himself.

Philippians 3:21

Disciples’ Literal New Testament

21 Who will transform the body of our lowliness[a] so as to be similar-in-form[b] to the body of His glory, according-to the working that enables Him also to subject all things to Himself.

Philippians 3:21

Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition

21 Who will reform the body of our lowness, made like to the body of his glory, according to the operation whereby also he is able to subdue all things unto himself.

Philippians 3:21

English Standard Version

21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

Philippians 3:21

Good News Translation

21 He will change our weak mortal bodies and make them like his own glorious body, using that power by which he is able to bring all things under his rule.

Philippians 3:21

International Children’s Bible

21 He will change our humble bodies and make them like his own glorious body. Christ can do this by his power. With that power he is able to rule all things.

Philippians 3:21

International Standard Version

21 He will change our unassuming bodies and make them like his glorious body through the power that enables him to bring everything under his authority.

Philippians 3:21

J.B. Phillips New Testament

17-21 Let me be your example here, my brothers: let my example be the standard by which you can tell who are the genuine Christians among those about you. For there are many, of whom I have told you before and tell you again now, even with tears, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ. These men are heading for utter destruction—their god is their own appetite, their pride is in what they should be ashamed of, and this world is the limit of their horizon. But we are citizens of Heaven; our outlook goes beyond this world to the hopeful expectation of the saviour who will come from Heaven, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will re-make these wretched bodies of ours to resemble his own glorious body, by that power of his which makes him the master of everything that is.

Philippians 3:21

Lexham English Bible

21 who will transform our humble body to be conformed to his glorious body, in accordance with the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

Philippians 3:21

Living Bible

21 When he comes back, he will take these dying bodies of ours and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same mighty power that he will use to conquer all else everywhere.

Philippians 3:21

The Message

20-21 But there’s far more to life for us. We’re citizens of high heaven! We’re waiting the arrival of the Savior, the Master, Jesus Christ, who will transform our earthy bodies into glorious bodies like his own. He’ll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which he is putting everything as it should be, under and around him.

Philippians 3:21

New American Standard Bible

21 who will transform the body of our lowly condition into conformity with [a]His glorious body, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.

Philippians 3:21

New American Standard Bible 1995

21 who will transform [a]the body of our humble state into conformity with [b]the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.

Philippians 3:21

New English Translation

21 who will transform these humble bodies of ours[a] into the likeness of his glorious body by means of that power by which he is able to subject all things to himself.

Philippians 3:21

New International Version

21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

Philippians 3:21

New Life Version

21 He will change these bodies of ours of the earth and make them new. He will make them like His body of shining-greatness. He has the power to do this because He can make all things obey Him.

Philippians 3:21

New Living Translation

21 He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.

Philippians 3:21

New Testament for Everyone

21 Our present body is a shabby old thing, but he’s going to transform it so that it’s just like his glorious body. And he’s going to do this by the power which makes him able to bring everything into line under his authority.

Kehillah in Philippi 3:21

Orthodox Jewish Bible

21 Who will transfigure the basar of our humiliation into the demut of the mode of being of the guf kavod of Moshiach, according to the pe’ulah (action, work—1:6; 2:13) of his ko’ach (power) [Ro 8:29;1C 15:43 53], even to the subjecting of all things to himself [1C 15:28]. T.N. The joyous tone of this letter is miraculous, given the fact that Rav Sha’ul is, as he is writing it, in danger of capital punishment by decapitation at anytime and without warning. But Sha’ul selflessly thinks about two quarreling women and the danger their quarrel poses to the kehillah in Philippi. He seems to have been leading up to this statement in 4:2: “I appeal to Euodias and I appeal to Syntyche, think the same thing in Adoneinu.” ]

Philippians 3:21

Revised Geneva Translation

21 He shall transform our humiliated body into a body conformed to His glory, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

Philippians 3:21

Tree of Life Version

21 He will transform this humble body of ours

into the likeness of His glorious body,

through the power that enables Him

even to put all things in subjection to Himself.

Philippians 3:21

The Voice

21 transform these humble, earthly bodies into the form of His glorious body by the same power that brings all things under His control.

Philippians 3:21

Worldwide English (New Testament)

21 He will change our body which was made for this world. He will make it like his own wonderful body. He will do this by his power to make all things obey him.

Philippians 3:21

Wycliffe Bible

21 which shall reform the body of our meekness, that is made like to the body of his clearness, by the working by which he may also make all things subject to him. [which shall reform the body of our meekness, configured, or made like, to the body of his clearness, after the working by which he may also make all things subject to him.]
